I Was Living in Survival Mode
For most of my life, I felt like I was carrying a backpack full of stress – and I thought that was just "normal." I was inflamed, exhausted, dealing with almost-daily migraines, and living with anxiety that had me constantly looking for the nearest exit route or bathroom. My periods were painful, my body felt "off," and I was depressed more days than not.
I was so into health. I studied it constantly. I tried everything. I was doing all the "right" things: reading labels, buying the "best" products, filling my fridge with foods that were supposed to fix me. I thought if I just tried harder, I'd finally feel better.
Then I realized something important: if my body was stuck in fight-or-flight, no amount of raw spinach was going to make me feel better.
The problem wasn't my food choices alone. It was my entire environment – my stress, my mindset, my beliefs, my lifestyle. No amount of "healthy eating" could override that.
When I changed my internal and external worlds, challenged everything I thought I knew, and finally became open to new truths, everything shifted. My body relaxed. My pain disappeared. The depression I'd lived with since I was five years old lifted. I felt connected, grounded, and healthier than I had ever been.
And I learned how to choose food to support that calm, balanced life.
That's why I'm here.
